UPDATE >>> FROM MORGAN (August)

August, 2007

Hi to all,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer break.  I'm going to Woodward East in a couple of days to work my last gymnastics camp of the summer.

I spent a lot of time in California at Woodward West this summer and met some amazing people.  While I was there, I had a lot of time to reflect on the direction my life has taken.  I've decided to go to school full-time in the fall.  I know it's something I'd like to do.  In the future I don't want to look back and regret not going to college and earning a degree. It's a little frightening to me because I didn't have a "traditional" education while I was a gymnast, but I'm excited.  I thought about coaching and going to school part-time, but I really want to devote all of my time to my studies and enjoy the experience.  I'm very fortunate that I am in a situation that I can choose to do this.

I will still be involved in gymnastics..choreography, TOPS, appearances and such, but I'll schedule everything around my classes and not too frequently.

Wish me luck!!

UPDATE >>> FROM MORGAN (May 18)

Hi everyone,

With summer approaching, I thought I would do a quick update.

I moved back to the Cincinnati area in February. I finished two years of acting school in NYC and decided to take a bit of a break before summer. I have an acting agency here that I'm working with. I've also been working at Cincinnati Gymnastics and will continue there for another month. Then, I'll spend most of the summer at Woodward West. I'm going to Woodward East at the end of the summer and will also be doing Firecracker Camps in June and July for MaryLee.

When I come back from summer camps, I plan to attend Cincinnati State part time and start working towards a degree. I figure now is a good a time as any. I'll keep coaching gymnastics, doing choreography, etc. as much as I can fit it into my schedule.

Enjoy your summer.

UPDATE >>> FROM MORGAN (July 1) + NEW PICTURES

Hi everyone,

I hope you're enjoying your summer. I'm spending most of my summer at the Woodward West camp in California. I've been here two weeks and will stay two more. Then, I'm going to Lake Owen in Wisconsin for a week followed by a week in Cincinnati. While I'm in Cincy, I'll spend three days at Mary Lee's Firecracker Camp and visit my family. Then, back for four more weeks in California.

Even though it was very hard to leave NYC for the summer, it's been a good change. I absolutely love the hustle and bustle of the city, but it's good to have an opportunity to quietly reflect.....except for the serious Starbucks withdrawals!! I love getting to work with the young girls who enjoy the sport enough to come to a summer camp. They're so fresh and eager. It's also nice to catch up with friends. Amanda (Borden) was my roommate the first week and Shannon (Miller) will be here Tuesday.

However, I'm very excited for the fall. I have a publicist who will be working with me when I return to New York. Hopefully, this will open some doors and I'll meet more people in the film business. I'll also be taking classes several times a week.

I guess that's about it for updates. Enjoy the rest of your summer.

UPDATE >>> FROM MORGAN (March 4)

Hi everyone,

I'm finally back in New York. I went home for the holidays and ended up staying for the entire month of January. Originally, I was to fly home for Christmas, return to NYC for 2 1/2 weeks in January and go back to Cincinnati for an appearance at The Coaches Cup ( Cincinnati Gymnastic's big invitational). At MaryLee's alumni holiday party, MLT was telling me that she was short an optional beam coach as Kim was out on maternity leave. Bottom line---I ended up staying in Cincinnati for the month of January to coach beam. It worked out great. I got to coach some really good athletes, spend time with my family and earn some extra money. My classes didn't start until February anyway so it worked out well.

Jamie Dantzscher and I both attended The Coaches Cup Meet. It was good to see her and get to know her a little better. As competitive gymnasts, we spent a lot of time together, but we haven't seen each other for several years. She was a lot of fun to be with.

I start a new series of classes this month with Jennifer Rudolph of Mitchell/Rudolph casting. I took two classes with her before the holidays and I loved them.

In October, I did 5 days of backgound work for an upcoming Sarah Jessica Parker film called Spinning Into Butter. I had a non-speaking part as a college student. I'm really hoping to get a few more opportunities this year. Recently, I had to pass on an audition for a principal part in a George Clooney movie as I was out-of-state at an autograph signing and couldn't leave. When an audition comes up---you don't get much notice. The agent called me and wanted me there the next day. When I was in Ohio last month, I was all set to film a scene in an upcoming movie called Immortally Yours. My part in the movie was to tumble in front of and through ice sculptures. Hamilton, Ohio has an annual ice show and the L.A. film crew was going to fly in and film some scenes at the show. I was going to get credits and a SAG waiver (both very difficult to get and essential for actors). But, the weather didn't cooperate. It got into the high 50's and there was only a 50/50 chance that the sculptures wouldn't melt. The director cancelled the flights to Ohio as it would have been too costly to fly there and not be able to shoot. Bad timing!!! It was one of the few times I wanted icy, cold weather!!!! Oh well. I just have to be patient and continue to persevere.

Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for visiting my web page.

UPDATE >>> FROM MORGAN (November 13)

Hi everyone,

I had a really busy summer doing gymnastics camps. It was a lot of fun. Now that I've been doing camps for a few years, I've formed some good freindships. I look forward to seeing my friends each summer as well as hearing from them throughout the year. I've been going to Lake Owen (Wisconsin) more years than any other camp; and it's almost like going home when I go there. I went to Woodward West, in California, for the first time this year...and it was great.

When I arrived back in New York after the camps, I moved into a new apartment. Last year I lived by myself in a studio apartment. This September, I moved into a three bedroom apartment and I now have two roommates. It's working out well-----they're both awesome people!

I just started a new part-time job coaching/choreography at the 92nd St. Y. It's a small program with current levels of 4-7. They're hoping to move into higher optional levels when the athletes are ready. The staff is very pleasant and the girls are sweet. And, it's only 8 blocks from my apartment which is incredible in NYC....no subway or taxi trips to get to work!!!

I start classes at The School for Film and Television on Wednesday. I'm both excited and nervous as I haven't been in acting classes for several months and this is a new school for me. I'm anxious to get back into the process again...scripts, auditions, etc.

Well, that's pretty much it as far as my latest updates.
Thanks for visiting my webpage.

Hi everyone,
I'm close to the end of my first semester at The New York Film Academy.  Wow!!  What an experience.  I'm taking 9 different acting classes...it's been a real "jump start" into acting and I absolutely LOVE it.  I've developed some really good friendships with other actors about my age from the U.S., Australia, Argentina and Scotland.  Vashti, the girl from Australia, is a world class figure skater so we have a lot in common athletically.  I went to my first audition on Saturday Nov. 20th.  I auditionedd for 3 agents for TV and Film who are looking for a teenage look.  For once my youthful appearance and short stature will come in handy :)  Then, on December 2nd, I have an audition workshop with 6 adult TV Commercial agents.  Wish me luck.
